Innovation Nation: Viscira® Digital Tour

Viscira, a leading provider of digital marketing solutions and software products for the life sciences industry, will kick off its second annual Digital Innovation Roadshow this month, titled Innovation Nation. Viscira plans to build on its success in 2017, when its roadshow presentations helped educate life sciences marketing, medical affairs, HEOR, commercial operations, and IT teams about some of the latest technology trends, platforms, and applications.

Last year, Viscira’s New Product Development Team traveled to 15 cities across the U.S., from Los Angeles to Boston and from Atlanta to New York, to showcase emerging digital technology solutions that could impact key business challenges facing life sciences companies. Ten leading life sciences companies were visited in total. The company intends to grow this list further in 2018.

“Viscira aims to expand the general awareness and understanding of innovative digital technologies that can enhance customer engagement models within life sciences marketing and education,” explained Jeff Asada, Vice President of Business Development at Viscira. “Viscira’s Innovation Nation is a creative way to bring the latest technologies to our clients by holding a series of on-site interactive sessions, demos, and discussions through our Educate, Experience, and Apply framework.”

The 2018 Innovation Nation is a strategic, user-centered approach to address some of the major challenges facing life sciences companies. At its core, Innovation Nation is a collaboration between Viscira and its life sciences clients to define new content delivery mediums and to help gain greater insights into how to more effectively apply cutting-edge, message-enhancing technologies in different user experience scenarios.

“As just one example, leveraging our successful Educate, Experience, and Apply framework, Viscira introduced a new training model that featured augmented reality (AR) and the Microsoft HoloLens device as the ideal training platform for advancing commercial selling efforts and sales training activities for a top-five pharmaceutical company. The initiative was the company’s first implementation of AR in an enterprise-wide capacity,” explained Rodwin Pabello, Viscira’s Director of New Product Development.

Viscira launches its 20-city tour this month and is excited to share new insights. For more information on Viscira’s Innovation Nation, please contact the company at (415) 848-8010 or send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Viscira® Capitalizes on Advances in Augmented Reality (AR) Technology

Augmented reality has experienced incredible growth since its introduction and is now having a transformative impact on the healthcare sector. According to a recent report by Grand View Research, Inc., the global augmented reality and virtual reality healthcare market is expected to reach USD $5.1 billion by 2025. Increasing adoption of AR advances in surgeries and medical training is helping drive this trend.

Viscira, a leading provider of digital marketing solutions and software products for the life sciences industry, is capitalizing on the improvements in AR technology by providing unique programs for its life sciences clients that include, and go beyond, applications in surgical simulations, diagnostic imaging, patient care management, rehabilitation, and health management.

One of the areas where Viscira is leveraging AR is in employee training, particularly for field-based sales representatives. Pharma companies are moving beyond the traditional classroom setting to train and educate staff. AR technology lends itself well to providing immersive, 3D learning experiences for the pharma reps.

These experiences can include using the Microsoft HoloLens to view and physically interact with a 3D image of a healthy, functioning organ like a heart. Viewers can see the impact of certain diseases on the appearance and performance of the organ. What’s more, the training instructor can view the same imagery at the same time as the participants, which allows him or her to provide additional real-time, voice-over commentary and education.

Viscira has also utilized AR for congress meetings to enhance the traditional convention booth display. By using the cameras on tablet devices like the iPad, Viscira has constructed AR booth exhibits that allow the user to access trigger points on printed media to unlock additional rich content such as 3D animation segments, KOL videos, animated charts and graphs, etc. This enables the user to go beyond the information presented in a print piece to learn more about a particular topic.

Hagop (Kane) Kaneboughazian, Viscira’s VP of Animation, commented on the use of AR technology for developing compelling communication programs for its clients: “We are very excited about the recent advances we are seeing with AR technology and the impact it can have on medical communications and marketing. We are actively exploring many new and different AR applications using the Microsoft HoloLens, iPad, and other devices such as the Meta 2, and we look forward to further developments.”

Viscira’s augmented reality programs are examples of the innovative digital solutions and interactive software applications the company offers. Viscira’s strategic approach, combined with its delivery of cutting-edge products, has resulted in an impressive roster of clients that includes 21 of the top 25 pharma and biotech companies in the world.

Viscira® Celebrates Ten-year Anniversary

Viscira announced the celebration of its ten-year business anniversary this month as a leading provider of digital marketing solutions and software products for the life sciences industry. The company is proud of the sustained growth and client impact it has achieved over the past decade and remains committed to ongoing innovation in life science marketing.

Ten years ago, Dave Gulezian, President and CEO, set out a vision for Viscira to become a valued technology partner and full-service digital marketing firm for life sciences clients, offering engaging, high-impact digital solutions and user experiences. Within Viscira's first few months of business, having only a few employees, the company secured a major project with one of the top biotech companies in the world.

Fast forward to today: Viscira has grown to a staff of approximately 120 people and has worked with 21 of the world’s top 25 pharmaceutical companies. The company has served over 200 unique brands, achieving solid penetration across almost every disease state and therapeutic area.

As further evidence of the company’s success, Viscira was acquired in 2016 by the Sudler & Hennessey Group, a leading global healthcare communications network. This has provided the company with new growth opportunities both domestically and globally, including in Europe and Asia.

"The success that Viscira has achieved in the past ten years is largely due to the dedication of our staff to satisfying clients and a desire to continue to push the envelope in terms of what is possible," commented Gulezian. "We will continue to focus on creating exceptional user experiences across various digital channels and are excited about what the future holds for the company."

Beginning with the win of its first major life sciences client in 2007, the company’s progress over the past decade includes many notable milestones and achievements. Viscira has memorialized some of these key highlights in the video accompanying this release.
